Happy Navratri! Try out this detox plan to stay healthy while you are fasting!

Navratri is back!

It is time to ask forgiveness for our sins and give some rest to our digestive system!

I have seen this very often that people FEAST on the name of FASTING.

These fasts are to avoid putting pressure on your digestive system and reduce your AGNI or digestive FIRE.

Try to detox yourself these 9 days because you wont be having any excuse to turn back 🙂

Also, fasting for Navratri doesn’t give you any excuse for skipping your WORKOUT or EXERCISES.

In fact this is the best time to consume less calories and burn out more!

Here is a sample menu which can give you an idea about how healthy Navratri fast looks like!

DAY 1:-

BREAKFAST :- Banana + 1 glass of milk + Handful of nuts or dry fruits

MID MORNING:- Coconut water + Handful of foxnuts (commonly known as makhana) + Handful of nuts

LUNCH:- Aloo- paneer chaat + 1 glass buttermilk

EVENING SNACK :- Green tea + Sabudana chaat (You can substitute this with plain fruit chaat as well)

DINNER:- Roasted paneer + Kuttu k aate ki roti

WORKOUT:- 30 mins a day walk (You can continue with your workouts as planned)

WATER:- 3 L everyday

MEDITATION:- 10 minutes before sleeping

DAY 2:-

BREAKFAST:- A bowl of fruit + 1 glass of luke warm milk + handful of dry-fruits

MID MORNING:- 1 Glass of buttermilk with sendha namak (Also known as rock salt) + Handful of almonds/walnuts

LUNCH:- Vari k chawal with peanuts + 1 cup of curd

DINNER:- Aloo chaat + singhade k aate ki roti

WORKOUT:- 30 mins a day walk (You can continue with your workouts as planned)

WATER:- 3 L everyday

MEDITATION:- 10 minutes before sleeping

DAY 3:-

BREAKFAST:- Rajgira k oats + handful of nuts + 1 piece of coconut

MID MORNING:- 1 Glass lemon water + 1 bowl of fruit

LUNCH:- Vari k chawal ki khichdi + aloo ki sabji

SNACK:- Green tea + aloo fruit chaat

DINNER:- Aloo paratha in kuttu ka atta + 1 bowl of curd

WORKOUT:- 30 mins a day walk (You can continue with your workouts as planned)

WATER:- 3 L everyday

MEDITATION:- 10 minutes before sleeping

DAY 4:-

BREAKFAST:- 2 Bananas + 1 apple + 1 orange + 1 glass of lemon water

MID MORNING:- Handful of foxnuts (commonly known as makhana) + 1 glass of coconut water

LUNCH:- Singhade ki roti + Cucumber sliced

SNACK:- Green tea + fruit aloo chaat

DINNER:- Kuttu k pakode + kuttu ki kadhi  + 1 cup of curd

WORKOUT:- 30 mins a day walk (You can continue with your workouts as planned)

WATER:- 3 L everyday

MEDITATION:- 10 minutes before sleeping

DAY 5:-

BREAKFAST:- Banana milkshake with almonds

MID MORNING:- Green tea + apples

LUNCH:- kuttu k aate ka uttapam with coconut chutney

SNACK:- Mint buttermilk

DINNER:- pumpkin soup + 1 bowl of curd

WORKOUT:- 30 mins a day walk (You can continue with your workouts as planned)

WATER:- 3 L everyday

MEDITATION:- 10 minutes before sleeping

DAY 6:-

BREAKFAST:- Kuttu k aate ka paratha + 1 cup of curd

MID MORNING:- Coconut water + handful of foxnuts

LUNCH:- Sabudana khichadi + peanuts

SNACK:- Green tea + 1 banana + 1 chickoo

DINNER:- 1 glass of warm milk + handful of nuts

WORKOUT:- 10 burpees  (You can continue with your workouts as planned)

WATER:- 3 L everyday

MEDITATION:- 10 minutes before sleeping

DAY 7:-

BREAKFAST:- 1 glass of chickoo milkshake + handful of nuts

MID MORNING:- Coconut water + 3 whole walnuts

LUNCH:- Boiled aloo chaat + 1 bowl of pomegranate raita

SNACK:- Green tea + 1 fruit

DINNER:- Kuttu k aate ki roti + paneer ki sabji

WORKOUT:- 10 surya namaskars (You can continue with your workouts as planned)

WATER:- 3 L everyday

MEDITATION:- 10 minutes before sleeping

 

If you are fasting on the 8th day as well, you can try having only water and fresh fruit juices.
