The essence of existence is called life. When god created life, he created certain vital elements essential for survival. In fact there exists such aspects which if discarded, meaning of the term life is bloodless. To stay fit is one such aspect, defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not just the absence of physical troubles. Health can be termed as a “coin man”. It has two sides, physical health, when your physical body is well taken care of; and mental health, when your mental thoughts are taken care of. Former is usually measured as physical fitness and the latter as happiness and satisfaction of one’s mind. But when we talk of a coin, we refer to its two sides, the outer sides. But there is another invisible side called the inside which in this context is the spiritual health, taking care of your soul.
We have all heard the proverb “health is wealth”. It is truly said that of all the treasures in the world, health is the most precious and the most valuable one can possess. A rich person capable of affording all the comforts and luxuries of life cannot relish its presence if his health is not good. The loss of health is loss of all happiness, and in turn life.
While discussing health,many people would consider the well-being of their bodies and forget about the condition of their mind. However as described previously, health is not only about alleviating and being free from physical aspects, it also includes being healthy in mind too. Rightly said an unhealthy mind resides in an unhealthy body. Everyone knows how to take care of their bodies. This is done almost every day by a majority of people. Exercising and consuming proper food at regular intervals helps keep the body healthy. But how does one keep the mind healthy? Food consumed has an essential impact both on the body and on the mind. A healthy diet contains right food groups with the accurate number of calories. Selecting the right food that for appropriate energy gains helps in keeping the both the body and mind healthy.
Happiness is a state of mind, well-being of the mind and in turn a happy lifestyle. Exercise is equally important in staying healthy both in mind and in body. Being active helps a person to continue their daily chores effectively and be independent as they age. Pure air and water is also a source of good health. Cleanliness is the most important hygiene habit, essence of good health next to godliness. Often many people sleep too much, this renders them indolent. On the contrary a zealous student goes to the other extremity. Both of these practices injure health.
In the hustle and bustle of life, individuals today forget to take out a proper time to take of their health. One should not forget that life is a great struggle, and without the weapon of health it is impossible to fight this battle, yet win. Man who is not healthy can face issues on every step of his/her life. He might be the richest in terms of merit, intelligence and wealth but on the same time all are useless when you can not utilise in a proper way to use and reap their benefits. Hence taking care of yourself is the best way to ensure you a lifelong healthy life, not only physically but also mentally.
