When the quantity is reduced to three fourth strain the mixture and let it cool. Give one teaspoon of this mixture to your baby two times a day.

5. Rasam

Tomato and garlic soups popularly known as rasam in south India is another tasty and useful home remedy for kids above 7 months of age. This soup also helps in strengthening the immune system of the baby.

6. Camphor induced coconut oil

Lukewarm coconut oil with a pinch of camphor also helps in curing a cold and cough in a baby. Massage your baby with this oil. This remedy helps in relieving body ache that occurs during cold.

7. Ginger coffee

If your kid is one year old or above you can try this magical coffee. Though it is called coffee you can prepare it without using coffee beans. It gives instant relief. But make sure you don’t give ginger coffee to babies below one year of age.  Take 2 small slices of ginger, 2 basil leaves, 2 cardamoms, 2 cloves, one tablespoon jaggery, and a cup of water.
