Diet plays a very important role in any disease, so in diabetes!

Diabetes mellitus (Commonly called as diabetes) is a metabolic disorder in which the production of insulin is hampered. Insulin is a hormone which is produced by pancreas which metabolites sugar and starch.

Someone who has Diabetes lives their life in extreme restrictions when it comes to food.

They keep getting advice’s about what to eat and what not to eat.

They are forced to eat bland food which gives no happiness!

This article will give you some delicious recipes for all your meals!

Go ahead, enjoy life and manage diabetes.

Early morning:- 

1 cup of masala tea

Recipe:-

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 tsp of tea
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp of elachi powder
  • 1 tsp of peppercorns//
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon  powder
  • 1/2 tsp of stevia

Preparation:-

  • Boil water with all ingredients and then add milk.
  • Serve hot

Breakfast:-

(1) Curd smoothie

Ingredients:-

  • 1 cup chopped pineapple
  • 1 cup papaya
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 5 cups curd
  • 1 tbsp of stevia

Preparation:-

  • Blend all the fruits together.
  • To the blended mixture add orange juice and stevia. Blend again.
  • To this mixture, add curd.
  • Serve cold

(2) Vermicilli Idli

Ingredients:-

  • 100 g vermicilli
  • 20 g semolina (Rava)
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 4 french beans
  • 1 tbsp coriander
  • 4-5 mint leaves
  • Baking soda
  • salt
  • 1 tsp of oil
  • 1 tbsp of besan
  • 1 tsp of urad dal

Preparation:-

  • Roast vermicilli and semonlina (Rava in separate pans)
  • Add oil to another pan and add urad dal and besan
  • Mix together all the ingredients mention andadd water (1 cup) to eat.
  • Keep it without moving for 20 minutes
  • Steam this for 5 minutes
  • Serve hot

Mid morning:-

Fruit Raita

Ingredients:- 

  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 tomato.
  • 1 small cucumber
  • 1/2 capsicum
  • 1 small apple
  • 1 pear
  • 1 guava
  • Pinch of chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp black salt
  • Fresh coriander

Preparation:-

  • Hung the curd, drain of the curd water.
  • Cut the fruits and vegetables and mix.
  • Add chaat masala.
  • Sprinkle corainder leaves.

Lunch:-

(1) Methi curry

Ingredients:- 

  • 1/2 cup methi seeds.
  • 1 tsp of oil
  • 1/2 tsp of jeera
  • Pinch of heeng
  • 1/2 tsp of chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp of haldi
  • 1 tbsp of coriander powder
  • 2 tsp of lime juice
  • Fresh coriander
  • 1 tsp of salt

Preparation:-

  • Soak methi seeds in 1/2 cup of water
  • Boil the water.
  • Heat the oil with jeer and heeng.
  • Add chilli, turmeric and coriander powder with water.
  • Remove the heat and sprinkle lime juice.
  • Serve hot

(2) Papaya Salad

Ingredients:- 

  • 1 cup raw papaya
  • 50 grams french beans
  • 1 capsicum
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 green chili
  • 1/4th cup coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp refined oil
  • A pinch of salt

Method:-

  •  Grate the papaya
  • Chop french beans, capsicum, tomato and green chillli.
  • Mix everything together and add tomato ketchup to it
  • Toss it.
  • Coat the ingredients properly before serving.

Evening snack:-

Orange and bathua soup

Ingredients:- 

  • 100 grams bathua
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp of paneer
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1.2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp of lime juice

Method:-

  • Wash bathua leaves thoroughly in water.
  • Pressure cook it with salt for 5 minutes.
  • Cool and blend
  • Add paneer and milk
  • Heat the soup
  • Add orange juice
  • Mix paneer and add lime juice
  • Serve hot.
