The irritating smell which is present in feet of our body is the foot odour. These foot odour are due to the presence of bacteria on feet, since after wearing socks moisture is present in socks, in the form of sweat and that sweat those bacteria use it as a medium to develop and grow. Foot odour mostly remains irritating to the affected persons, they feel after removing shoes how will it smells bad. Whether others will think badly of this condition, this makes them to isolate. Here today we are going to see the home remedies that can be practiced at home to get rid of these foot odour.

1.Essential oils


Essential oils can be lavender, eucalyptus or tea tree oil. The things required for this home remedy would be 10 drops of essential oils, warm water in half a bucket level. Mix the essential oil in half bucket warm water. Now soak your feet on it. Let it remain for half an hour maximum or minimum 20 minutes. Then remove your feet from water and allow it to dry. This has good result try it off. Also you can mix all the three essential oil and use it likes above said ways. Twice in a day do this home remedy, do this method for few days continuously to completely stay away from foot odour. The mechanism behind the essential oil is, these oils have antiseptic, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties, which help in destroying those breeding bacteria in foot. These oils contain rich and strong fragrance which helps to counter that bad foot odour. Using essential oils also helps in soothing body, mind and soul.

2.Black tea bags

For this home remedy, you require black tea bags, hot water and a tub which is small in size, now fill the tub with hot water, and to it add the black tea bags. Let the essence of black tea enter inside the tub for few minutes. Afterwards soak your feet in hot water. Let it remain in water for fifteen minutes, afterwards remove your feet and let it dry. Do this remedy continuously for twice a day. The anti-bacterial and antioxidant property of tannins and polyphenols in tea helps to stay away from those bad foot odour.

3.Salt water


The things requires for this home remedy will be one cup of salt, small tub and hot water. Now take the tub and to it add hot water, then add salt to it. Mix it well. Allow the salt to dissolve in water, afterwards soak your feet in water for half an hour. For best results do this method twice a day continuously. How this method works well is, salt has the power to absorb excess moisture. Thus excess moisture present in feet is absorbed well by this salt. Thus makes harder for bacteria to grow in feet. Salt water acts as a natural astringent.

The required materials for this home remedy will be a small tub with hot water, half a cup of household bleach. Gently mix the bleach to hot water; now soak well your feet in it for 12 minutes. Afterwards wash with normal water. Repeat it daily once to get best results. Using bleach can cause skin irritation or inflammation. On such cases remove your feet from soaking. Then give a wash with normal water. In some cases only it can cause irritation on skin. Especially for those who have sensitive skin. Bleach contains anti-microbial properties which destroys the bacterial growth under foot.

5.Baking soda


Baking soda is nothing but sodium bicarbonate. This helps to stay away from that bad odour on foot. The things required for practicing this remedy would be 2 tablespoon of baking soda, hot water and one tub. Mix the baking soda in hot water filled in tub. Just soak your feet in this mixture. Let it get’s soaked for 15 minutes. Do this process twice a day to stay away from the foot odour. The antibacterial properties of baking soda helps in destruction of bacteria on foot and keeps the bad smell away.

6.Coconut oil

Mix coconut oil along with cedar wood oil well, now take this oil and apply on clean feet. Gently massage your feet with this oil mixture. Rubbing of oil gently itself helps in absorption of oil in foot. Do this home remedy twice a day. It is simple and effective home remedy, the antibacterial and anti fungal property, which is present in coconut oil and cedar wood oil helps to destroy microbes in feet. Thus stay away from bad odour on foot.
