It’s important to eat healthy and smart this Diwali!

The festival of lights, the festival of tasty food is here! The excitement is bounded to everyone! After a nice fasting Navaratri, we are all set to load our body with loads of calories!

Diwali means lot of sweets, lot of parties to attend which means lots of food to eat! Of course, we won’t be saying no to any of this and we shouldn’t even do that!

So, how should we try maintaining our health and enjoy the festival?

One thing which I always tell everybody,

” No food is wrong”

” Food is food, nothing is wrong in food”

” If you want to eat anything, feel free to go and eat it without any GUILT”

I always see people telling me that I have gone up with 2 kgs after Diwali!

It is because people are losing weight with all ‘yo’ ‘yo’ ways of weight loss!

What are the ways of staying healthy this Diwali?

  • If you have a party planned tonight, don’t starve since morning! Eat your meals as usual. Staying empty stomach will make you overeat. A small snack can definitely work!
  • During the festival days, there are chances that you won’t get time to eat proper meals. That is okay. Whatever time you get, please eat your meals.
  • Try to keep rest of the meals healthy if you have planned one of the meals out of the house.
  • Keep yourself hydrated. Make sure you are having around 3-4 liters of water everyday
  • You can always choose for deserts which are healthy. Make sure you are having portion control on your meals.
  • You can always opt for something which is naturally made.
  • Go easy on alcohol please! Don’t go overboard with your alcohol intake. Always remember to drink 1 glass of water after every glass of alcohol which you take.
  • If someone is offering you some sweets, you shouldn’t say NO! But you can always pick up something which you can have mindfully!
  • Go for tandoori, grilled, baked then going for fried food intake.
  • There would be a lot of pollution around so all the organs will be compromised. Keep your body completely detoxed. Have a glass of lemon water after every meal you eat.
  • I know this would be something very unrealistic that you have to work out but trust me, if you do a 5-min workout the moment you get up it will help in boosting your metabolism! Some workout options like jumping jacks, boot camp, Tabata will help you out.
