The Relationship between Time and Fruits

There is actually a right way to eat fruits if one has to get full health benefits of fruits. Otherwise, the whole plate of healthy fruits would be just bringing problems to us rather than nutrition.

Morning – best time

There are some guidelines related to eating fruits. Morning is the best time to fill your mouth with fruits. An empty stomach will make the processing of the nutrients, sugar and fibre contained in the fruits faster. Another thing to take care of is nothing should be eaten along with fruits, they should be eaten alone. Of course, you can have them with other fruits but not with other kind of food.

Not to be eaten close to meals

Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner fruits should not be eaten with meals or even close to meals. Keep at least an hour break before having your meal and servings of fruit and a two hour break after the meal. If we have heavier meals like junk food then they a lot more time to digest so a gap of four hours would be sufficient in that case. The reason behind this is fruits contain some acids that can get mixed with our food and then the fruits stay in our stomach for too long and it will get rot and fermented. This can result in stomach problems like burping or indigestion or some heart problems as well like heartburn.

Having Fruits at night?

There actually no harm in having fruits at night. But it depends on what fruit we are eating. The choice of what kind of fruit we eat at night can make a lot of difference. Try eating low calorie fruits at night as sugar containing fruits will raise our blood sugar which can be a concern later especially for diabetic patients. Fruits being full of essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients make them a perfect snack to nibble if one is starving before going to bed rather than opting for a tub of vanilla ice-cream.
