Glaucoma is a medical condition in which pressure around the eyeball increases resulting in severe pain and damaging of the optical nerve due to which there is a loss of vision. It has found its most frequent use as pain relieving medicine. In the United States, people usually take marijuana as a pain suppressor and studies have also revealed that it could be helpful for those who are suffering from severe pain especially due to nerve damage. Moreover, marijuana isn’t as habitual as opiate drugs and carries virtually no risk of a fatal overdose.
Stops cancer from spreading
A study published in the journal Molecular Cancer Therapeutics revealed that Cannabidiol, a chemical found in marijuana could stop cancer cells from spreading. It stated that CBD prevents cancer by turning off a gene called Id-1. An experiment was carried out to prove this fact in which researchers treated breast cancer cells with cannabidiol. It was found that after treatment cancer cell was less aggressive.
